The 30km course treats runners to magnificent sea and mountain views. Starting at Mount Austin Playground at The Peak, runners follow a gradual climb to the pavilion of Victoria Peak Garden. The route is flanked on both sides by historic buildings built over a century ago. The view from the top overlooks spectacular vistas of the South China Sea in the distance. Following a shaded, tree-lined path that allows for full sprinting, runners soon reach Lung Fu Shan, where Pinewood Battery is a landmark of Hong Kong’s wartime history.
The route then takes runners to Pok Fu Lam Reservoir, the city’s first reservoir built in 1863, followed by Aberdeen Reservoir. After passing the main dam and Bennet’s Hill, runners advance along the winding Middle Gap Road to the Wan Chai Gap checkpoint, where replenishment awaits. The final stretch of the trail sees runners return to Pok Fu Lam Country Park via section 3 and section 2 of Hong Kong Trail, then along Pok Fu Lam Reservoir Road to Harlech Road and Lugard Road on The Peak, and finally back to the finish point at Mount Austin Playground.
